Bob Mahoney is a member of the firm’s management committee, Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group, and General Counsel to the firm.
Bob is a trial attorney who has tried many cases in state and federal courts. He has been lead counsel in numerous matters in the federal and state courts of New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Michigan, and Ohio. He has also arbitrated many significant matters in several forums when the parties have elected to pursue arbitration rather than trial. In addition to his trial experience, Bob has argued cases before the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.
Over his 35-year career, Bob has represented clients in a wide variety of commercial cases, including intellectual property licenses, patents, trademarks, franchises and distributorships, professional negligence, asset and stock purchase agreements, environmental cost recovery and insurance coverage, e-commerce and information technology, trusts and estates, dissolutions of closely held businesses, real estate, and condemnation, and a whole range of other typical business disputes.
Bob takes a practical approach to each matter, understanding his client’s goals and objectives. He provides the client with both a legal and economic perspective in the context of any litigation. He looks for imaginative ways to resolve each dispute but, when necessary, is prepared to use his trial experience to achieve the client’s desired approach.
Utilizing his litigation experience, Bob is often called upon to counsel the firm’s clients in various business transactions in order to eliminate or reduce the risk of litigation.
