Allentown, PA (September 17, 2012) – On September 13, Barbara L. Hollenbach, Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., was presented with the Irv Stander Award at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section’s fall meeting at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey. The award is named in honor of the late Judge Irv Stander and is presented to a lawyer whose dedication to the administration of workers’ compensation law, clients, professionalism, and regard for colleagues serves as an example to others.
“I am truly honored to receive such an elite award and thank my peers for their kind recognition,” said Hollenbach.
A resident of Bethlehem, Hollenbach focuses her practice on workers’ compensation, professional liability, products liability, and general litigation.
Her civil litigation experience includes representing manufacturers of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and other products. She also represents a variety of professionals including psychiatrists and veterinarians, as well as clients in will contest actions including allegations of undue influence and lack of mental capacity.
Hollenbach was the first woman elected president of the Northampton County Bar Association. She is a past chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law Section. Since 2011, Hollenbach has served on the Pennsylvania’s Workers’ Compensation Rules Committee. She has been named one of Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers for six years, most recently in 2012, by Philadelphia Magazine. Hollenbach has co-authored and co-presented the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Workers’ Compensation Practice & Procedures manual and course since 2000.
Hollenbach is an active community volunteer. She serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Historic Bethlehem, Inc., and the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts. She has also served on the boards and has been president of numerous charitable organizations, including Quota International of Bethlehem and the YWCA of Bethlehem.
She earned her J.D., cum laude, in 1978 and her B.A., with highest distinction, in 1975 from Pennsylvania State University.
