Nicholas Pellitta Recognized By The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce

Nicholas F. Pellitta, a Member of the Bridgewater law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., was presented with the Chairman’s Award for Excellence from the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce (HCCC) at the Island Paradise Annual Meeting and Dinner Dance on Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Grand Colonial in Perryville, New Jersey. The award was in recognition of his outstanding service to the HCCC, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman and was previously Legal Counsel.

The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce is a pro-active partnership of businesses, with approximately 500 member companies, dedicated to promoting a favorable business climate, supporting member companies and providing business leadership throughout the county. The volunteer membership drives the committees and activities of the organization. The HCCC serve as a collective voice for business where and when it matters.

A resident of Flemington, Pellitta has substantial experience in a variety of legal areas in both federal and state courts. He provides a wide variety of litigation strategy and assistance in commercial matters. Pellitta has also represented colleges and universities for 20 years in areas such as tort claim defense, police litigation, civil rights and student discipline. On the individual level, Pellitta offers assistance to clients in a variety of matters, both in municipal and superior courts.

Pellitta has served as Second Vice President in the C. Willard Heckel Inn of Court, an organization designed for the continuing education of newly-admitted attorneys. He has also lectured at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and on behalf of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in the area of trial practice. He is Vice President of Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR) and also serves as a member of the HPR Board of Trustees. He was recently also honored by the Rutgers University Department of Public Safety for 20 years of service to the Rutgers Police Department as a Rutgers Prosecutor.

Pellitta obtained his J.D. from New York Law School in 1985 and received his B.A. from Rutgers College in 1982.
