Some of the practices the firm has adopted are installing high efficiency lighting, turning off lights, computers, copiers, printers, and other equipment when not in use, enabling power-down management software on networked computers and the use of screensavers, and developing smart-use systems to manage HVAC and lighting use.
“Norris McLaughlin, P.A. believes an energy management approach will aid in preserving the environment for future generations and help enhance the financial health of the firm,” explained Ted Korth, who is heading up the firm’s effort to “go green.” The firm has accepted the responsibility to measure and track energy performance within the organization and will develop and implement a plan that is consistent with the ENERGY STAR Energy Management Guidelines to achieve energy savings.
