Norris McLaughlin, P.A. Names Four New Members

Bridgewater, NJ (January 17, 2012) – The Bridgewater law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A. announced that Melinda Fellner Bramwit, Christopher S. Casieri, and S. Graham Simmons, III, have been named Members of the firm.

Bramwit concentrates her practice on tax matters, focusing primarily on federal, state and international tax matters from a planning and transactional perspective. Her experience includes corporate structuring, focusing on acquisitions and reorganizations with a view toward maximizing tax benefits from domestic and international standpoints. She routinely represents clients in federal and state tax controversies. Bramwit also has expertise in structuring joint ventures and partnerships, including their international aspects and negotiating and drafting operating agreements and drafting organizational and transactional documents.

Bramwit earned her LL.M in Taxation from New York University School of Law; her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she wrote for the International Law Journal; and her B.A. in French Literature from Cornell University.

Casieri, a resident of Titusville, NJ, focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, specifically patent litigation, opinions and prosecution. He counsels clients in the areas of infringement, validity, freedom to operate and API clearance; evaluates and responds to infringement allegations, and provides design-around advice and risk analysis. Casieri handles the preparation, prosecution, appeals and interferences of domestic patents; and oversees the prosecution and opposition of international patents. He also drafts and negotiates license, purchase and settlement agreements, and contracts.

Casieri earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, with honors, in 2000; his M.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina—Wilmington in 1994; and his B.S. from Trenton State College in 1991.

Simmons, a resident of Easton, PA, practices primarily in the areas of corporate and business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and land use, banking and financial services, and health care. In his corporate practice, Simmons assists clients in selecting the optimal legal entity for their chosen business or profession, and has experience representing sellers, buyers, and financiers in a broad range of transactions, including mergers, consolidations, stock purchases, share exchanges, bulk sales and dissolutions. He also assists clients with the negotiation and drafting of contracts for the sale of goods, technology licensing and reseller agreements, OEM arrangements, and End User License Agreements.

Simmons earned his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Villanova University School of Law in 2004; and his B.A. from Roanoke College in 2001.
