Oldrich Foucek Guest Lectures for Real Estate Class at Lehigh University
Allentown, PA (September 20, 2010) – Oldrich Foucek, III, Member of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino, the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., served as a guest lecturer for two sections of students at Lehigh University’s Integrated Real Estate at Lehigh (IRE@L) program on September 15, 2010. The course entitled, “Introductory Seminar in Real Estate” is co-taught by Jane Schiff, a real estate broker with The Frederick Group, and Andrew Twiggar, Principal, Owner and Co-founder of the Dunn Twiggar Company, LLC, a real estate development and management company. This course explores a variety of issues related to real estate, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Foucek specifically covered current policies and procedures relating to subdivision and land development in Pennsylvania. Other course topics include the relationship of real estate to finance, architecture, environmental issues, government, engineering, urban planning, and economic development.
Foucek is a founding partner of the Pennsylvania office and currently serves on the firm’s compensation committee.
During his career, Foucek has offered advice, litigated and favorably resolved disputes for business clients with regard to a wide range of substantive issues, including architects/engineers liability, construction disputes, shareholder disputes, wrongful discharge, employee restrictive covenants, corporate governance, student and physician discipline, real estate tax exemptions, software licensing, HMO liability, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, ERISA, and securities fraud.
In addition, Foucek has appeared, and successfully argued appeals before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Superior and Commonwealth Courts, as well as The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Foucek also assists entrepreneurs, including those with emerging technologies, in the formation of business entities and advises them throughout the process of building their businesses.
Over the years, Foucek has been very involved in the community. Currently, he chairs the Allentown City Planning Commission and the Friends of Zoellner Arts Center, and he is a member of the board of advisors of The Allentown Art Museum. He is general counsel for The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and secretary of Saucon Valley Country Club. He has been active as a volunteer at Lehigh University, serving his alma mater in a number of capacities, including nine years as a trustee. Previously, Foucek served on the Boards of the Pennsylvania Stage Company (including a term as president) and Touchstone Theatre.
