Peter D. Hutcheon Named In Who’s Who in American Law

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerville law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that member Peter D. Hutcheon has been selected for inclusion in the 30th Anniversary Edition of Marquis’ Who’s Who in American Law for 2007-2008.
Who’s Who in American Law provides biographies of more than 25,000 leading attorneys and other legal professionals such as judges, educators and legal theorists, highlighting their lives and careers, specialties, education and achievements. For more than 100 years, Who’s Who in America has provided accurate, concise biographies of notable Americans. Today, corporate executives, journalists, personnel recruiters, librarians, researchers, students, and many others consult these information databases for in-depth information on these honored individuals.
Hutcheon practices in the areas of commercial transactions, securities, and banking and finance law at Norris McLaughlin, P.A.. He also regularly counsels the management of public and private companies on a variety of corporate governance matters including the complexities of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Hutcheon is currently a member of the New Jersey State, New York State and American Bar (ABA) Associations. He was Chairman of the New Jersey Corporate and Business Law Study Commission from its inception in 1989 until 2002. He also chaired the New Jersey Securities Advisory Committee, appointed by the Attorney General from 1995 until 2001, and has served as the ABA’s Liaison to the New Jersey Bureau of Securities for more than 25 years.
Hutcheon was the 2005 recipient of the Martin I. Lubaroff Award for his lifelong service to the ABA’s Section on Business Law, Partnerships and Unincorporated Business Organizations Committee. He has been an active member of the Committee for more than 20 years. He founded the Committee’s newsletter, the PUBOGRAM, and served as its editor for 16 years. As a member of the Committee, Hutcheon played a principal role in drafting and amending New Jersey’s Limited Liability Company Act and drafting New Jersey’s Revised Uniform Partnership Act.
Hutcheon received his J.D. from Harvard University, cum laude, and his B.A. from Williams College, magna cum laude.
