Peter Hutcheon Elected Presiding Justice of Clayton Elks Lodge 2132

Peter D. Hutcheon, Of Counsel to law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been reappointed as the Presiding Justice at his local Clayton Elks Lodge 2132 for the fourth term.
“It has been a privilege and an honor to serve my local community through the Lodge. I am quite proud of the work we have been able to accomplish, particularly helping children with special needs and veterans, and happy to continue to give back to those most in need,” said Hutcheon.

Clayton Elks Lodge 2132, located at the intersection of Broad and Walnut Streets in Clayton, New Jersey, has been named the “Pride of the South District” of the New Jersey State Elks Association. As the most active community-based organization, its primary focus is to benefit children with special needs and veterans. About Peter Hutcheon
In his 46 years with Norris McLaughlin, Hutcheon has practiced primarily in the areas of business governance, commercial transactions, securities, banking, and finance.
Hutcheon has been a member of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, and Unincorporated Entities Committee of the ABA Business Law Section since 1981. He founded and served 16 years as Editor of the Committee’s newsletter. In 2005, Hutcheon received the Committee’s Martin I. Lubaroff Award in recognition of his contributions to the law of unincorporated entities. He is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Limited Liability Company and Partnership Attorneys.
Hutcheon chaired the New Jersey Securities Advisory Committee appointed by the attorney general from 1995 to 2001 and served as the ABA’s Liaison to the New Jersey Bureau of Securities for over 39 years. He also served as Chair of the ABA Science & Technology Law Section, as well as Editor of Jurimetrics Journal.
Hutcheon is listed in the Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions Law, and Securities Law sections of the current edition of The Best Lawyers In America© and has been included on the list of New Jersey Super Lawyers® in the Business/Corporate section every year since its inception in 2005. Additionally, he has authored numerous articles on business-related law topics including limited liability companies, securities, and directors and officer’s liability.
Hutcheon received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Williams College and his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
