Ted Zeller to Speak at Brewers of Pennsylvania 2nd Annual Mid Atlantic Brewers’ Symposium

Posted on September 9th, 2016

Theodore J. Zeller III, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., and Chair of its Liquor Law Department, will speak at the Brewers of Pennsylvania 2nd Annual Mid Atlantic Brewers’ Symposium on Friday, September 30, at Artsquest Center at Steel Stacks.  To RSVP, please visit http://www.brewersofpa.org/event/mid-atlantic-brewers-symposium/.

The Brewers of Pennsylvania is a group of motivated entrepreneurs and well-known manufacturers that embrace the countless traditions and history of Pennsylvania brewing.  The symposium features ten 45 minute seminars by leaders of the craft brewing industry.  With the science and business of brewing as the main focus, participants will be offered valuable insight and resources, as well as an interesting outlook on Pennsylvania’s constant evolution of the craft beer landscape.

Zeller focuses his practice on alcoholic beverage law, commercial transactions including related real estate transactions, and litigation.  He began his legal career as a litigator and has tried multiple cases in county and federal court, including jury trials, and hundreds of cases before arbitration panels, district justices, and administrative law judges.  Zeller was lead counsel in a beer rights case brought against the world’s largest brewers, and serves as outside general counsel to Yuengling Brewery and Brewers of Pennsylvania, among others.

Zeller’s lobbying efforts helped to modernize parts of the Pennsylvania liquor code, and he has authored numerous provisions that have been enacted into law.  Most recently, his efforts helped change brewery regulations to allow for tap rooms and he authored the Malt Beverage Tax Excise Credit Legislation.

In addition, Zeller advises alcohol manufacturers on state and federal law, regulatory compliance, and distribution issues. He also counsels clients on the acquisition of liquor licenses on the open market and coordinates liquor license transactions with other practice areas, such as real estate, corporate and business law, intellectual property, financing, tax law, and litigation.

Zeller earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1992.
