Allentown, PA (January 12, 2010) – Theodore J. Zeller, a Member of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino, the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., P.A., will be recognized at the Annual Membership Dinner as the outgoing President of the Bar Association of Lehigh County on Thursday January, 14, 2010. The dinner will serve to welcome the incoming President, Susan G. Maurer, and feature keynote speaker Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.
“On behalf of the Bar Association of Lehigh County, I would like to thank Ted for the outstanding leadership and service that he has provided to this organization. His innovative ideas and tireless dedication to the legal profession will leave us well positioned for future success,” praised Dan LaBert, Executive Director of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.
The Bar Association of Lehigh County has provided service and assistance for over 100 years to the county’s lawyers and the community. The association was officially chartered in 1905 and was put in place “to advance the science of jurisprudence and the administration of justice, to encourage a thorough legal education, to uphold the honor and dignity of the bar, to cultivate social and professional association among its members, to assist the courts in the orderly and efficient administration of justice and to perpetuate the history of the profession and the memory of its members within this judicial district.”
Zeller focuses his practice on alcoholic beverage law; commercial transactions, including related real estate transactions; and litigation. Ted began his legal career litigating various cases in multiple forums. He has tried multiple cases in county and federal court, including jury trials, and hundreds of cases before arbitration panels, district justices and administrative law judges. He was lead counsel in a beer rights case brought against the world’s largest brewers and serves as outside general counsel to Yuengling Brewery.
Zeller’s lobbying efforts helped to change the public venue law under the Pennsylvania liquor code to assist firm clients in obtaining licenses under statute instead of on the open market at extraordinary expense. In addition, he counsels clients regularly on the acquisition of liquor licenses on the open market, and coordinates liquor license transactions with other practice areas such as real estate, corporate and business law, financing, tax law, and litigation.
Zeller earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1989, and his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1992
